School Day and Holidays
- School doors open at 8.40am for children to enter.
- Lessons will begin promptly at 8.50am
- Reception and Year 1 and 2 will finish at 3.20pm
- Year 3, 4 and 5 and 6 will finish at 3.30pm
Punctuality is very important as the school day starts promptly and we do not want the children to miss the start of lessons. Children start to arrive in school from 8.40am and the morning registers will close at 08:50am. Pupils who arrive after this time will need to be signed in on the screen in the main entrance area.
Children should not arrive at school before 08:40am as supervision is not available. Many teachers arrive at school well before this time but this time is used for planning and preparation of lessons.
All children should enter through the main front entrance and go straight to their classrooms. Children will not be allowed to leave the school premises during school time unless collected by an adult.
Parents collecting children during school hours should use the main entrance and inform the Headteacher or the Office staff. In all cases of absence a written explanation must be brought when the child returns to school.
If parents feel that there is likely to be a lengthy absence, then a call at the start of the illness would be helpful. Written notification of dental and hospital appointments should be given to your child’s teacher or the school office beforehand.
HOLIDAYS IN TERM-TIME
We request that parents avoid taking children out of school during term time as they miss valuable teaching and learning which cannot be made up. Absences during term time due to holidays are recorded as unauthorised. Full details are in our Attendance Policy.
